This page highlights any new functionality or modified behavior, but is not meant as a complete resource for new features. You can find more about these items by following the links on this page. ### Determining Your Current Version The current version of Ignition can be viewed by visiting the Welcome page of the Gateway. 1. Navigate to your Gateway and select the Home tab to view the Welcome page. 1. Locate the Gateway Version under the Gateway Overview section on the Welcome page. :::note You must be logged in with [Read or Write Permissions](platform/security/gateway-general-security-settings/gateway-general-security-settings.md#roles-and-permissions) to see this section. If you aren't prompted to log in, you can select the **Log In** option in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. ::: ![](img1.png) ### Upgrading Ignition Upgrading Ignition is easy, but there are a few things we recommend to ensure everything goes smoothly. See the [Installing and Upgrading](getting-started\installing-and-upgrading\installing-and-upgrading.md) page for a complete guide. ## New Ignition Perspective Mobile App Features This section is devoted to new features introduced to the [Ignition Perspective Mobile App](ignition-modules\perspective\perspective-sessions\ignition-perspective-app\ignition-perspective-app.md). New versions of the app are released separately from new Ignition versions, so notable changes to the app will be listed in this section. ## New Ignition Features This section is devoted to new features introduced to Ignition. Any pages in this user manual that contain features that were added will be accompanied by a display like this: ## New in 2027.02 ### Catalyst * The [Catalyst Core](ignition-modules\catalyst\catalyst-core\catalyst-core.md) and [Catalyst Agent](ignition-modules\catalyst\catalyst-agent\catalyst-agent.md) modules are now available. ### Enterprise Administration Module (EAM) * Controllers can now assign a single leased license key to [multiple agents](ignition-modules\enterprise-administration\agent-management\license-management\license-management.md#assigning-a-leased-key-to-multiple-agents) if support for multiple sessions is available. ### Expressions * Users can now use [negative subscripts](platform\expression-language-and-syntax\expression-language-and-syntax.md#collection-and-mapping-access) to access elements at a specific index in datasets, lists, and arrays. ### Gateway * Updated [singleton resources](platform/gateway/web-interface/platform/gateway-deployment-modes/gateway-deployment-modes.md#system-resources) to display the immutable configurations with all fields and buttons disabled. * Updated resource [descriptions](platform/gateway/web-interface/web-interface.md#editing-a-resource-description) and enabled state to apply to the resource as a whole. Both are now shared by the Primary and Backup versions of a resource and are changed through the three dots menu instead of the Edit panel. ### Historian * Added an Enterprise Historian module, which delivers the [Enterprise Historian](ignition-modules/tag-historian/tag-history-providers/tag-history-providers.md#enterprise-historian) provider, to improve time-series data storage and management for large Ignition systems. ### Installers and Launchers * Improved the Windows installer's handling of [command line arguments](getting-started\installing-and-upgrading\command-line-installations.md#extraction-location---windows). ### Localization * Rebuilt the [Translation Manager](platform/localization-and-languages/localization-and-languages.md#translation-manager) in the Designer. Translation keys can now include notes that describe their context, and multiple keys can be added at once with [Batch Entry](platform/localization-and-languages/creating-translation-lists/creating-translation-lists.md#add-global-translation-terms). * Improved the performance of translation lookups on the Gateway. * Added the ability to [import and export Gateway translations](platform/localization-and-languages/creating-translation-lists/creating-translation-lists.md#supported-file-formats) in two new formats: a zip of JSON files or an Excel (.xlsx) file. ### OPC UA * Added an [OPC UA Redundant](ignition-modules/opc-ua/opc-ua-connections/opc-ua-redundant-connections/opc-ua-redundant-connections.md) connection type that connects to a redundant set of OPC UA servers using OPC UA non-transparent redundancy. The connection discovers every server in the set, monitors each server's Service Level, and fails over automatically in Cold, Warm, or Hot mode. * Renamed the **View Details** option for OPC connections to [**Diagnostics**](ignition-modules/opc-ua/opc-ua-connections/opc-ua-connections.md#diagnostic-information). ### Perspective * Updated the [Power Chart](appendix/components/perspective-components/perspective-chart-palette/perspective-power-chart/perspective-power-chart.md) component to improve usability and customization options, including a refined X Trace display, a Pen Control Quality column, and a chart loading indicator. * Added a built-in [on-screen keyboard](platform/designer/designer-tools/workstation-keyboard-layouts/workstation-keyboard-layouts.md). You can create, import, export, and preview keyboard layouts in the Designer using **Tools** > **Workstation Keyboard Layouts**. * Updated the [Pie Chart](appendix/components/perspective-components/perspective-chart-palette/perspective-pie-chart/perspective-pie-chart.md) component to improve usability and appearance, including new variants and Component Events. ### Redundancy * Added a [Zero Data Loss](platform/ignition-redundancy/ignition-redundancy.md#zero-data-loss) functionality that enables backup Gateways to capture and retain historian data during standby, then automatically backfill the historian data to eliminate data loss windows. ### Reporting * Added an [SVG component](appendix/components/report-design-components/report-design-display-palette/report-component-svg/report-component-svg.md) to the Report Design tab interface. ### Scripting * Added a `getChildren` parameter for the [system.tag.getConfiguration()](appendix\scripting-functions\system-tag\system-tag-getConfiguration.md) and [system.tag.query()](appendix\scripting-functions\system-tag\system-tag-query.md) scripting functions. * Added the [system.i18n](appendix/scripting-functions/system-i18n/system-i18n.md) scripting namespace with new functions for working with localization. ### Security * Added the option to select a target collection for a duplicated key on the [API Key](platform/security/api-keys/api-keys.md#editing-renaming-duplicating-or-deleting) settings page. ### Transaction Groups * Added the ability to open multiple [Transaction Group](ignition-modules/sql-bridge-transaction-groups/understanding-transaction-groups/understanding-transaction-groups.md#welcome-page) tabs simultaneously, matching functionality with the Named Query and Reporting Designer interfaces.
